Shooting is finally over... after all the drama and chaos (mainly my own fault) cant wait to start editing and keying the final batch and start putting it all together.... props to Josh who took time of work and is in the middle of packing to leave for the states and came down to help a brother out!

Back to tafe tomorrow, cant wait to book the studio and finally get the bulk of my movie shot with my main actor (josh) i hope i can get it done in one day but more realistically i will need two or three, that doesn't leave much time for editing....scary

Alien terrain-Orok

after a trying many different tests and scrapping all of them i think i have found something that best achieves the look i was after and is easy enough to do. I have settled on building the sets in photo shop importing the psd file into AE then move the objects back or forward in a 3D space and then scaling them up/down so that they appear to be the original size of the psd

filming went reasonably well with Jake who plays the alien king, a few issue that neither of us could control got in the way but i cbf ranting about it here (although that's what blogs a for) Jake delivered a stellar performance, improvising the majority of the lines including the final scene (an epic speech) which i somehow managed to lose the script for.... a page that he had never read. the kid is a shoe in for an oscar... or at least a bacon deluxe on me. The footage is all logged and most of it captured but as always with importing footage (so i have found) something goes wrong so i have have to dude the rest in class tomorrow. looking forward to begin editing.

so the last week or so has all been about scenery and sets. since i am broke, i am using random things from around the house to create model sets.... egg shells, bark, tissue boxes, guitar strings and such.... pictures soon

so far... i have finished my proposal, written and re-written a few pages of script, written a few more characters and designed a rough logo. going to take a few location shots on the week end. soon onto story boards

Initial idea

My idea for my management project is a short film in the style of an episode of a campy sci fi series (Buck Rogers, Flash Gordon) so far i have a celtx file full of characters, props, locations, special effects a basic plot treatment and about 3 or 4 pages of script. i have also decided to use models and green screen instead of 3D/digital effects. Working title so far is:
